As Vox's chief of staff, one of my responsibilities is to keep an eye on our numbers. And right now, we're only a few hundred contributions away from hitting our goal of 95,000 individual contributions before 2024.
We set this goal for two reasons:
1. To show the world the power of Vox's community. We're always going to be different from our competitors because we'll never put our content behind a paywall. Rather, we ask readers to make an investment in the future of Vox's journalism to help keep it free for all.
2. As we wrap up 2023, we're already finalizing next year's budget — and what we're able to raise this month will directly affect our plans for 2024.
I could not be more proud of everything that we do — from our beloved explainers that are used in middle school classrooms and college courses to our podcasts, events, Future Perfect fellowship, and so much more.
