I wrote about Mr. & Mrs. Smith on Prime Video, starring Maya Erskine and Donald Glover. I feel like this one has flown under the radar a tiny bit (maybe because the Prime folks were promoting Expats?), and I really enjoyed it. For the record, it has so little to do with the 2005 Brangelina movie that there's really no reason to treat it as related to that except, I suppose, business considerations. With Vanderpump Rules returning for an 11th season, we revisited our conversation about it, and about "Scandoval." Mandalit del Barco and Brittany Luse joined Aisha to talk about highlights from the Sundance Film Festival. If you didn't catch Aisha's bigger roundup of her favorites, make sure to check it out. We also brought back our episode in which Glen talked to Ayesha Rascoe about Marvel's all-ages animated series, Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur. My co-hosts, Aisha, Stephen, and Glen were joined by our former producer and Slate ICYMI host Candice Lim for a family reunion and a discussion about the pop culture hill they'll die on. Candice was back to talk to Glen, Stephen and J.C. Howard about the movie Argylle. Stephen joined Robin Hilton and Daoud Tyler-Ameen (what a panel!) for a conversation about the legacy of Green Day on All Songs Considered. Stephen also visited with Morning Edition and Leila Fadel to explain what's going on with the licensing dispute between TikTok and Universal Music Group. |
