Thune said his conference has “10 or 15 potential CRAs that we’ve been reviewing and looking at.” TREASURY SPEAKS ON MUSK — Treasury said in a Tuesday letter to Sen. Ron Wyden that Musk’s team has “read-only” access to the system that controls trillions of dollars in federal payments, and that there have not been any suspensions or delays to disbursements approved by federal agencies, our Michael Stratford reports. The agency also confirmed for the first time that Musk ally Tom Krause, the CEO of Cloud Software Group, was coordinating the “operational efficiency assessment” of Treasury’s payment systems as a consultant to the agency. Treasury publicly spelled out the situation a day after Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent talked to Republican lawmakers about Musk’s role behind closed doors, as Michael and Jasper Goodman scooped. GOP ZEROES IN ON "DEBANKING" — Hill Republicans are set to kick off a pair of hearings today that will put new scrutiny on allegations that financial firms have inappropriately cut off customers because they’re politically disfavored. The GOP-driven push to examine “debanking” has gained new steam on the right thanks to complaints from crypto industry players, Jasper writes. Republicans who have led the charge on the issue — Rep. Andy Barr and Sen. Kevin Cramer — are reintroducing “fair access” legislation that now has a better chance than ever of moving.
