Kamala Harris has enough verbal commitments to secure Democratic nomination

California's delegates to the Democratic National Convention voted Monday to back Kamala Harris as the party's presidential nominee, giving her enough verbal commitments to clinch the nomination, allies say.

The vote was held during a private Zoom call with more than 300 delegates to the DNC, after former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi urged party activists to unite in solidarity, urging the entire delegation to support Harris for nomination.
